Job Description

Limestone Analytics is seeking a dedicated and experienced Remote Software QA Tester to join our distributed development team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the high quality and reliability of our custom software applications, which range from complex economic models and data visualization tools to client-facing web platforms.

Working remotely, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing comprehensive test plans and test cases to identify, track, and report defects. This position demands a keen eye for detail, a proactive approach to identifying potential issues, and excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with developers, product managers, and project stakeholders. You will contribute significantly to the entire software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of functionality, usability, and performance. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on product requirements and specifications.
  • Perform various types of testing, including functional, regression, integration, system, and performance testing, for web and desktop applications.
  • Identify, document, prioritize, and track bugs and issues using defect tracking systems, and verify bug fixes.
  • Collaborate closely with development teams, product owners, and business analysts to understand project requirements and provide input on testability.
  • Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospective meetings within an Agile/Scrum framework.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our QA processes, tools, and methodologies.
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts where applicable to enhance testing efficiency and coverage.
  • Ensure timely completion of testing activities and provide clear, concise status reports to the project team.
  • Validate data integrity and accuracy within complex analytical applications.

Required Skills

  • 3+ years of professional experience in software quality assurance or testing roles.
  • Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Proven experience with manual testing and a solid grasp of test automation principles.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
  • Experience with defect tracking systems (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla) and test management tools.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote work environment.
  • Proficiency in creating clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright).
  • Basic knowledge of SQL for database validation.
  • Experience testing applications built with Python, R, or web technologies (JavaScript, React).
  • ISTQB certification or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
