As a Remote Software QA Tester, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing comprehensive test plans and test cases for new features and existing functionalities. Your expertise will be crucial in identifying, documenting, and tracking software defects, as well as verifying bug fixes. This role requires a strong understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes, combined with excellent communication skills to articulate issues clearly and concisely. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on product requirements and technical specifications.
- Perform various types of testing, including functional, regression, integration, performance, and user acceptance testing.
- Identify, document, and track software defects and inconsistencies using issue tracking systems.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, software developers, and other QA engineers to ensure comprehensive test coverage and understanding of features.
- Verify bug fixes and ensure that they resolve the reported issues without introducing new defects.
- Participate in agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and sprint reviews, to provide testing insights and progress updates.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes, tools, and methodologies.
- Maintain and update test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test reports.
- Provide clear and concise status reports on testing progress, risks, and challenges to stakeholders.
Required Skills
- 3+ years of professional experience in software quality assurance or testing.
- Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Proficiency in creating clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
- Experience with bug tracking systems (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps) and test management tools.
- Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a remote environment.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience with automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Cypress) and frameworks.
- Familiarity with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, SoapUI).
- Basic knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript) or programming languages.
- Experience testing web applications, mobile applications, or cloud-based platforms.
- ISTQB certification or similar professional QA certification.
