As a Renewable Energy Installer, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient installation, maintenance, and repair of various renewable energy systems, primarily focusing on solar photovoltaic (PV) panels, battery storage solutions, and potentially air source heat pumps. Your work will directly contribute to reducing carbon footprints and empowering our clients with energy independence. Key Responsibilities
- Install solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, battery storage solutions, and other renewable energy technologies on residential and commercial properties.
- Conduct site surveys and assessments to determine optimal system placement and design requirements.
- Perform electrical wiring, connection, and commissioning of renewable energy systems in accordance with relevant standards (e.g., MCS, BS 7671).
- Undertake fault finding, maintenance, and repair work on existing installations.
- Ensure all work is completed to the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.
- Provide clear communication and excellent customer service to clients throughout the installation process.
- Complete all necessary documentation, including installation reports and health and safety checklists.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, project managers, and other stakeholders.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay updated with new technologies and regulations.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in renewable energy installation, particularly solar PV.
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., MCS, NICEIC, City & Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing, Part P).
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations in construction/electrical work.
- Ability to work safely at heights and in various weather conditions.
- Excellent practical and problem-solving skills.
- Valid UK driving license.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with battery storage systems and EV charging point installations.
- Familiarity with air source heat pump installation.
- GWO (Global Wind Organisation) training for onshore work (if applicable).
- First Aid at Work certification.
- CSCS card.
