Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive feasibility studies and technical assessments for new renewable energy projects.
  • Design, optimize, and engineer renewable energy systems, including solar PV arrays, wind farms, and other sustainable solutions.
  • Analyze energy production data, performance metrics, and system efficiency to identify and implement improvements.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all relevant environmental regulations, building codes, and industry safety standards.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports, project proposals, environmental impact assessments, and compelling presentations for various stakeholders.
  • Engage actively with government agencies, Indigenous communities, local residents, and project partners to foster strong relationships and ensure project success.
  • Contribute to the development of grant applications, funding proposals, and policy advocacy efforts.
  • Monitor project progress, troubleshoot technical issues, and provide expert guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Stay abreast of emerging renewable energy technologies, market trends, and policy changes to drive innovation.
  • Provide technical support and training to project teams and clients as required.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Renewable Energy, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of proven experience in renewable energy project development, engineering, or implementation.
  • Strong technical understanding of solar PV, wind energy, and ideally other renewable energy technologies (e.g., hydro, biomass).
  • Proficiency in energy modeling, simulation software (e.g., PVSyst, WindPro), and CAD tools.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret complex technical specifications, regulations, and environmental data.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Solid project management fundamentals and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant renewable energy or engineering discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Quebec or eligibility to obtain one.
  • Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for site analysis and resource assessment.
  • Familiarity with Canadian and Quebec energy policies, incentives, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is a significant asset for engagement in Montreal.
  • Experience with battery storage systems, smart grid technologies, or microgrids.
  • Certification in project management (e.g., PMP).
