The Loop Beach Resort is seeking a dedicated and proactive Public Area Cleaner to join our dynamic team immediately. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene across all public areas of our beautiful resort. This includes our inviting lobby, vibrant restaurant and bar spaces, immaculate restrooms, serene pool decks, picturesque garden pathways, and various guest common areas. Your efforts will directly contribute to the overall guest experience, ensuring that every corner of our resort reflects the tranquil and luxurious ambiance we promise.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily cleaning tasks in all public areas including lobbies, hallways, restrooms, restaurant/bar areas, pool decks, and outdoor pathways, adhering to a strict cleaning schedule.
- Dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and polishing surfaces to ensure a consistently high standard of cleanliness and visual appeal.
- Emptying waste bins and ensuring proper disposal of waste, including separating recyclables when applicable, in accordance with resort policies.
- Cleaning and sanitizing public restrooms thoroughly, replenishing supplies such as soap, toilet paper, and towels as needed.
- Washing windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces to ensure they are streak-free and sparkling.
- Monitoring and reporting any maintenance issues, damage, or safety hazards observed in public areas to the appropriate department.
- Adhering strictly to health and safety regulations, resort cleaning protocols, and chemical usage guidelines.
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization of cleaning supply storage areas and all assigned equipment.
- Assisting with special cleaning projects or events set-up/tear-down as required, demonstrating flexibility.
- Interacting with guests and fellow team members in a polite, professional, and friendly manner, always ready to assist with a positive attitude.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 1 year) in a cleaning role, preferably within a hotel, resort, or similar hospitality environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a thorough understanding of cleaning best practices and hygiene standards.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
- Physical fitness and stamina to perform demanding cleaning tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Knowledge of various cleaning chemicals and equipment, and demonstrated ability to handle them safely.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Basic communication skills to interact effectively with team members and guests when necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent educational background.
- Certification in hospitality cleaning or hygiene standards.
- Fluency in Swahili; basic conversational English language skills are a significant advantage for guest interaction.
- Experience working in a multicultural team environment, demonstrating adaptability and cultural sensitivity.
