Beachcomber Resorts & Hotels is looking for a talented Resort Staff member to join our vibrant team as a Tourism & Activities Coordinator. In this pivotal role, you will be the face of adventure and cultural immersion for our esteemed guests. You will be instrumental in designing, promoting, and facilitating a wide array of leisure and recreational activities, ensuring every guest’s stay is filled with excitement, discovery, and relaxation. Key Responsibilities
- Engage with guests to understand their preferences and recommend suitable tourism and leisure activities.
- Plan, organize, and execute a diverse range of daily activities, including sports, cultural events, excursions, and entertainment.
- Provide comprehensive information to guests about local attractions, cultural sites, and available resort activities.
- Coordinate with external tour operators and internal departments to ensure seamless execution of activities and excursions.
- Conduct safety briefings and ensure adherence to all safety protocols for all activities, particularly water-based and adventurous pursuits.
- Manage activity bookings, schedules, and equipment, ensuring everything is well-maintained and readily available.
- Handle guest inquiries, feedback, and complaints professionally, striving for immediate resolution and guest satisfaction.
- Assist in the development and promotion of new and exciting guest experiences and entertainment programs.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of all resort facilities, services, and local attractions to provide accurate and helpful information.
Required Skills
- Minimum 1 year of experience in hospitality, tourism, or a customer-facing role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English and French (verbal and written).
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- A genuine passion for customer service and creating positive guest experiences.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays, as per resort operational needs.
- Proactive attitude with a strong sense of initiative and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or Certificate in Hospitality, Tourism Management, or a related field.
- Proficiency in additional languages (e.g., German, Mandarin, Italian).
- Knowledge of local Mauritian culture, history, and popular tourist attractions.
- Experience with water sports activities or certifications (e.g., PADI, lifeguard) is a plus.
- Basic first aid and CPR certification.
