Job Description

As a Restaurant Supervisor at Kigali Serena Hotel, you will be a pivotal leader in ensuring the seamless operation and exceptional guest experience within our dynamic dining venues. Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring smooth service flow.
  • Lead, train, and motivate a team of waiters, waitresses, and other service staff to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
  • Monitor and maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety in all dining areas.
  • Assist in scheduling staff shifts and managing labor costs effectively.
  • Handle guest inquiries, concerns, and feedback promptly and professionally to ensure complete satisfaction.
  • Oversee inventory management for dining supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels and minimizing waste.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely and accurate food and beverage delivery.
  • Implement and enforce company policies and procedures, including cash handling and security protocols.
  • Conduct pre-shift briefings and post-shift debriefings to communicate operational updates and gather feedback.
  • Identify opportunities for service improvement and contribute to the development of new initiatives.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in a supervisory role within a high-volume restaurant or hotel dining setting.
  • Strong leadership and team-building capabilities with a focus on staff development.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in restaurant management software and POS systems.
  • Thorough understanding of food and beverage operations, including inventory control and cost management.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with a genuine passion for hospitality.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management, Restaurant Management, or a related field.
  • Fluency in Kinyarwanda and English is essential; knowledge of French is a significant advantage.
  • Certification in food safety and hygiene.
  • Experience in a luxury hotel environment.
  • First aid and basic emergency response training.
