Your role will involve a variety of tasks crucial to the smooth operation of our restaurant, from setting up dining areas and serving meals to maintaining cleanliness and assisting with inventory. Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome guests warmly upon their arrival, assisting them with seating arrangements.
  • Present menus, answer questions about menu items, and take accurate food and beverage orders.
  • Serve food and beverages promptly and courteously to guests, ensuring satisfaction.
  • Prepare dining areas for service, including setting tables, polishing cutlery, and arranging condiments.
  • Clear tables, wash dishes, and assist with general kitchen and dining area cleaning and sanitation.
  • Handle cash and card payments accurately, process transactions, and reconcile daily sales.
  • Restock inventory for dining areas, ensuring an adequate supply of plates, glasses, and other essentials.
  • Assist kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks when required, adhering to hygiene standards.
  • Respond to guest inquiries and concerns professionally and efficiently, escalating issues when necessary.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times, following all health and safety protocols.

Required Skills

  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong customer service orientation with a friendly and approachable demeanor
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and demanding environment
  • Basic numeracy for handling cash transactions and making change
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights

  • Reliability and punctuality for all shifts

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience (at least 6 months) in a restaurant, cafe, or hospitality setting
  • Knowledge of basic food hygiene and safety practices
  • Ability to speak Sesotho is highly advantageous
  • Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems
  • High school diploma or equivalent
