Job Description

Shoprite Mantsonyane is actively seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Retail Assistants to join our welcoming team. In this pivotal role, you will be the frontline ambassador of our store, directly influencing our customers’ shopping experience. Your daily responsibilities will encompass a broad spectrum of tasks designed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the store. This includes warmly greeting customers, assisting them with product inquiries, and helping them locate items with a friendly and knowledgeable approach. You will expertly operate point-of-sale (POS) systems, handling cash and card transactions accurately and efficiently, while also processing returns and exchanges with a customer-first mindset.

Beyond direct customer interaction, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the appealing presentation of our merchandise. This involves diligently stocking shelves, ensuring products are correctly priced and neatly displayed, and monitoring inventory levels to prevent stock-outs. Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe shopping environment is also key, requiring you to assist with general store upkeep, including cleaning spills, tidying aisles, and ensuring all areas meet our high standards of hygiene and safety. Key Responsibilities

  • Greet customers warmly and provide excellent service, assisting with inquiries and product location.
  • Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems accurately to process transactions, including cash, card, and mobile payments.
  • Stock shelves, rotate merchandise, and ensure products are correctly priced and neatly displayed.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe store environment, including aisles, display areas, and checkout counters.
  • Assist with inventory management, including receiving deliveries and reporting stock discrepancies.
  • Handle customer returns and exchanges professionally and efficiently.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including health, safety, and security protocols.
