Job Description
METL Group is seeking a meticulous and dedicated Full-Time Retail Inventory Auditor to join our growing team in Mtemani, Chake Chake. This crucial role is instrumental in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our retail inventory, directly contributing to our operational efficiency and loss prevention efforts. As an Inventory Auditor, you will be on the front lines, conducting thorough physical counts, reconciling discrepancies, and providing valuable insights that support sound business decisions across our retail outlets. You will work independently and as part of a broader operational team, traveling to various METL retail locations within the region to perform comprehensive audits. Your expertise will not only help in maintaining accurate stock levels but also in identifying areas for process improvement, enhancing internal controls, and ultimately safeguarding company assets. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular, independent physical counts of merchandise and assets across designated retail locations.
- Reconcile inventory discrepancies between physical counts and system records, investigating variances thoroughly.
- Identify root causes of inventory discrepancies, including shrink, damage, misplacement, and data entry errors.
- Prepare detailed audit reports, documenting findings, recommendations, and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with store management and staff to implement best practices for inventory control and loss prevention.
- Monitor adherence to established inventory procedures, policies, and internal controls.
- Provide training and guidance to retail staff on proper inventory handling and record-keeping.
- Assist in the development and refinement of inventory audit processes and methodologies.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, local regulations, and industry standards related to inventory management.
- Utilize inventory management software and tools to optimize audit efficiency and accuracy.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in inventory management, auditing, or a related field, preferably in a retail environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Swahili.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- High level of integrity and ethical conduct.
- Capacity to travel frequently within the Mtemani, Chake Chake region to various retail outlets.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems or dedicated inventory management software.
- Knowledge of retail operations and loss prevention strategies.
- Certifications in inventory management or auditing are a plus.
