As a Retail Promotions Assistant, you will be the face of our various on-site retail offerings and exclusive guest experiences. Key Responsibilities

  • Actively engage with resort guests to promote various retail products, services, and resort amenities (e.g., spa, dining, excursions, gift shop items).
  • Distribute promotional materials, brochures, and flyers to raise awareness about current offers and events.
  • Assist in setting up and maintaining attractive promotional displays and retail areas within the resort.
  • Gather guest feedback and communicate insights to the management team for continuous improvement.
  • Support the planning and execution of on-site promotional events and activities.
  • Achieve agreed-upon promotional targets and contribute to guest satisfaction scores.
  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of resort facilities, services, and local attractions to provide accurate information to guests.
  • Collaborate with the sales, marketing, and front office teams to ensure consistent messaging and guest experience.
  • Adhere to all resort policies, procedures, and service standards.

Required Skills

  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills in English; proficiency in Swahili is a significant advantage.
  • Outgoing, friendly, and enthusiastic personality with a natural ability to connect with people.
  • Strong customer service orientation and a genuine desire to enhance guest experiences.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work part-time hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by resort operations.
  • Basic understanding of promotional techniques and retail dynamics.
  • Neat and professional appearance in accordance with hotel grooming standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role within hospitality, retail, or promotions.
  • Familiarity with the Nungwi area and broader Zanzibar attractions/culture.
  • Additional language proficiency (e.g., French, German, Italian, or Spanish).
  • A diploma or certificate in Hospitality Management, Marketing, or a related field.
