WFCU Credit Union is seeking a passionate Entry Level Risk Management Coordinator to join our dedicated team. This is an exceptional opportunity for a recent graduate or an individual with foundational experience to gain invaluable insights into the intricacies of risk identification, assessment, mitigation, and monitoring within a thriving financial institution.

In this pivotal entry-level role, you will work closely with our experienced Risk Management team, supporting critical functions that safeguard WFCU Credit Union’s assets, ensure regulatory compliance, and uphold our commitment to member trust. You will be instrumental in assisting with the collection and analysis of risk data, contributing to risk assessments, and helping to develop and implement robust risk mitigation strategies. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the collection, organization, and analysis of risk data from various internal and external sources.
  • Support the development and maintenance of risk registers, incident logs, and other risk management documentation.
  • Help prepare routine risk reports and presentations for management, highlighting key risks and trends.
  • Contribute to the review and updating of risk policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in the investigation of risk events, including data gathering and initial impact assessment.
  • Provide administrative support to the Risk Management team, including scheduling meetings, managing correspondence, and maintaining department records.
  • Assist in developing and delivering risk awareness training materials for employees across the credit union.
  • Collaborate with other departments to gather information pertinent to risk assessments and control effectiveness.
  • Stay informed about industry best practices and regulatory changes affecting financial risk management.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Risk Management, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior internship or co-op experience in a financial services environment.
  • Basic understanding of financial regulations and compliance frameworks (e.g., OSFI guidelines).
  • Familiarity with data analysis tools or risk management software.
  • Certifications or coursework related to risk management (e.g., FRM, CRM candidate).
