Job Description

Sena Hotel Beira is seeking a motivated and guest-focused Room Service Assistant to join our dynamic food and beverage team. Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and accurately process room service orders, ensuring all details are captured.
  • Prepare and set up food and beverage trays and trolleys according to hotel presentation standards.
  • Deliver orders to guest rooms promptly and courteously, maintaining a professional and friendly demeanor.
  • Present bills accurately and efficiently process cash or card payments.
  • Clear used trays and trolleys from guest rooms and designated service areas in a timely manner.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the room service pantry, equipment, and serving areas.
  • Anticipate guest needs and proactively offer assistance or recommendations.
  • Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff, front desk, and other departments to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Adhere strictly to all hotel health, safety, and hygiene regulations, including food handling procedures.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate inventory of room service supplies, reporting any shortages.
  • Handle guest inquiries and minor concerns professionally, escalating complex issues to management.

Required Skills

  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation with a genuine desire to assist guests.
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Physical stamina to stand, walk, push trolleys, and lift moderate weights for extended periods.
  • Proficiency in English; knowledge of Portuguese is highly advantageous.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Basic mathematical skills for order taking and payment processing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a hotel room service, restaurant, or customer service role.
  • Familiarity with Point of Sale (POS) systems.
  • Hospitality or tourism-related certification or training.
