Key Responsibilities
- Achieve and consistently exceed assigned monthly and quarterly sales targets and key performance indicators.
- Actively engage with customers on the sales floor, understanding their specific needs, and recommending suitable products.
- Promote special offers, new arrivals, and loyalty programs to maximize sales opportunities and enhance customer value.
- Build and maintain strong, lasting customer relationships through excellent service, follow-up, and problem-solving.
- Provide accurate and helpful information about products, pricing, and store policies to enhance the customer's shopping experience.
- Handle customer inquiries and complaints efficiently and courteously, ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Contribute to the overall positive atmosphere and efficient operation of the store, including merchandising and stock rotation.
- Monitor local market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify potential business opportunities and areas for improvement.
Required Skills
- Proven track record in sales, preferably within a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) or retail environment.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills with a natural ability to connect with people.
- Strong customer service orientation with a proactive, friendly, and problem-solving approach.
- Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and also thrive as part of a collaborative team.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for reporting).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple priorities effectively.
- A results-oriented mindset with a strong drive to achieve and surpass targets.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Diploma or Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related commercial field.
- Previous experience specifically within the supermarket or general retail sector in Zimbabwe.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Mvurwi local market, customer base, and community dynamics.
- Ability to speak local languages common in the Mvurwi area in addition to English.
