This pivotal role focuses on driving the sales of our comprehensive suite of express logistics and supply chain solutions, with a strong emphasis on product promotion and market penetration within the Fort Adelaide (Citadel) and wider Port Louis area.
As a Sales Representative, you will be the face of DHL Express, engaging directly with potential and existing clients, understanding their unique shipping and logistics needs, and effectively promoting our diverse product portfolio – from international time-definite shipments to specialized customs services and innovative e-commerce solutions. You will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, managing a robust sales pipeline, and achieving ambitious sales targets through proactive outreach, compelling presentations, and strategic negotiation. Key Responsibilities
- Identify, qualify, and secure new business opportunities within the assigned territory, focusing on small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and key accounts.
- Actively promote and sell DHL Express's range of products and services, including international express shipping, specialized freight, customs solutions, and e-commerce services.
- Develop and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships, acting as a primary point of contact and trusted advisor.
- Conduct regular market research to identify trends, competitive activities, and potential growth areas.
- Prepare and deliver professional sales presentations, proposals, and contracts tailored to client needs.
- Achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Collaborate with internal teams (Customer Service, Operations, Finance) to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and pipeline status using CRM tools.
- Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to represent DHL Express and generate leads.
Required Skills
- Minimum 2-3 years of proven experience in B2B sales, preferably within logistics, freight forwarding, or a related service industry.
- Demonstrable track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills in English and French (Creole is a plus).
- Strong understanding of sales principles, customer service practices, and market dynamics.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic, target-driven environment.
- Valid driving license and access to a reliable vehicle for client visits.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Logistics, or a related field.
- Experience with international shipping regulations and customs procedures.
- Previous experience working for a global logistics provider.
- Knowledge of the Port Louis and Mauritian business landscape.
