Career.zycto is seeking dedicated and reliable Sanitation Workers for immediate hire in the Westside area of Helena. This is a vital full-time role that contributes directly to the health, safety, and cleanliness of our community. As a Sanitation Worker, you will be responsible for the efficient and safe collection, transport, and disposal of waste and recyclable materials from residential, commercial, and industrial areas. Key Responsibilities

  • Collect and load various waste materials (residential, commercial, recycling) into collection vehicles according to established routes and schedules.
  • Operate and maintain specialized sanitation equipment, including compactor mechanisms, hoists, and other tools, in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment; report any mechanical issues or damage promptly.
  • Ensure proper segregation and disposal of waste, adhering to local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
  • Navigate collection routes safely, paying close attention to traffic, pedestrians, and property.
  • Communicate courteously and professionally with residents and businesses regarding collection services or issues.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and vehicle.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Assist with the manual lifting of heavy items and containers as required.
  • Work effectively as part of a team to ensure efficient route completion.

Required Skills

  • Ability to perform strenuous physical labor for extended periods, including lifting, bending, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions and safety protocols.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic and a commitment to attendance.
  • Basic understanding of vehicle operation and safety principles.
  • Ability to work effectively outdoors in various weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow).
  • Valid Driver's License and a clean driving record.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with team members and the public.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Previous experience in waste collection, general labor, or a similar physically demanding outdoor role.
