Job Description
Career.zycto is immediately seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Scaffolder to join our growing team in Butetown, Cardiff. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced professional to contribute to diverse and challenging construction projects across the region. As a Scaffolder, you will be instrumental in erecting, altering, and dismantling scaffolding structures safely and efficiently, ensuring full compliance with industry regulations and company standards. Key Responsibilities
- Safely erect, alter, and dismantle scaffolding systems, including independent, putlog, birdcage, and hanging scaffolds, in accordance with design specifications and established safety procedures.
- Conduct thorough daily inspections of scaffolding equipment and erected structures to identify and rectify any defects or hazards.
- Interpret and work from technical drawings and scaffolding plans accurately.
- Ensure all work is carried out in strict adherence to Health and Safety regulations, including NASC guidance, SG4:22, and TG20:21.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored and cared for.
- Collaborate effectively with site managers, supervisors, and other construction trades to ensure project timelines and quality standards are met.
- Report any unsafe conditions, incidents, or near misses promptly to the site supervisor.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced scaffolders and labourers when required.
- Perform routine maintenance and checks on scaffolding materials.
Required Skills
- CISRS Scaffolder card (Part 2 or Advanced)
- Proven experience in erecting, altering, and dismantling a wide range of scaffolding structures
- Solid understanding of relevant Health & Safety regulations and industry best practices (e.g., Working at Height Regulations)
- Ability to read and interpret scaffolding designs and technical drawings
- Strong physical fitness and manual dexterity for working at heights and handling heavy materials
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Commitment to maintaining high safety standards on site
Preferred Qualifications
- CISRS Advanced Scaffolder card
- Full UK Driving License
- Confined Space training certificate
- First Aid at Work qualification
- Experience with specific types of scaffolding systems (e.g., system scaffolding, temporary roofs)
