Job Description
The Aga Khan Academy Mombasa is seeking a diligent and dedicated School Cleaner to join our facilities team on a full-time, morning shift basis. In this vital role, you will be instrumental in maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness across our educational facility, ensuring a safe, healthy, and conducive environment for learning and growth. As a School Cleaner, you will be responsible for the comprehensive cleaning and upkeep of classrooms, administrative offices, common areas, restrooms, and other designated spaces within the academy grounds. Your work directly contributes to the overall well-being of our students and staff, creating an atmosphere where focus can thrive and health is paramount. The morning shift specifically focuses on preparing the campus before students and faculty arrive, ensuring all areas are pristine and ready for the day’s activities. This includes tasks such as thorough sanitization of high-touch surfaces, ensuring restrooms are sparkling clean and well-stocked, and that all learning spaces present a welcoming and hygienic appearance. Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and polishing of floors.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, ensuring they are stocked with necessary supplies.
- Dust and wipe down surfaces, furniture, fixtures, and equipment in classrooms, offices, and common areas.
- Empty waste bins and transport waste to designated disposal areas.
- Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors.
- Ensure all high-touch surfaces (door handles, light switches, railings) are regularly disinfected.
- Report any maintenance issues, damages, or safety hazards to the supervisor promptly.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Operate and maintain cleaning equipment safely and effectively.
- Restock cleaning supplies and maintain an organized storage area.
Required Skills
- Proven ability to follow instructions and complete tasks efficiently.
