Key Responsibilities

  • Perform various manual tasks such as planting, weeding, thinning, pruning, and harvesting crops (e.g., vegetables, fruits, grains).
  • Operate and maintain basic farm machinery and equipment under supervision (e.g., tractors, irrigators, cultivators).
  • Assist with irrigation systems, including setting up, moving, and monitoring water flow.
  • Handle and care for farm animals, if applicable, including feeding, cleaning enclosures, and assisting with general animal husbandry.
  • Conduct general farm maintenance, including fence repair, cleaning barns, and upkeep of farm grounds.
  • Sort, pack, and prepare produce for market according to quality standards.
  • Adhere strictly to farm safety protocols and food handling regulations.
  • Work effectively as part of a team, following instructions from farm supervisors and contributing to a positive work environment.

Required Skills

  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods, including lifting, bending, and standing.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain).
  • Reliability and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Basic communication skills (English or French).
