Job Description
We are seeking a vigilant, proactive, and highly dependable Security CCTV Monitor to join our dedicated team at Sunshine Marine Lodge in Kilima Juu, Matemwe. This critical role is integral to maintaining the safety and security of our guests, staff, and property. As a Security CCTV Monitor, you will be responsible for the continuous surveillance of our premises using state-of-the-art closed-circuit television systems. Your primary duty will be to identify and document any suspicious activities, unauthorized access, or potential security breaches across the entire lodge property. Your keen observational skills and ability to react swiftly and appropriately to incidents will be paramount in preventing and mitigating security risks.
You will work closely with our on-site security personnel and the management team, providing real-time information and support to ensure a rapid and effective response to any emergent situations. This position demands meticulous attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to operate complex surveillance equipment effectively in a dynamic and sometimes fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor all CCTV cameras and related security equipment for 24/7 surveillance of the lodge premises, including guest areas, back-of-house, perimeters, and access points.
- Proactively identify and report any suspicious activities, security risks, potential threats, or breaches of security policies to the Security Manager and on-site security team without delay.
- Document and maintain accurate, detailed records of all incidents, observations, and actions taken during shifts, including comprehensive reports and secure evidence collection (e.g., video footage).
- Communicate effectively and promptly with security personnel, management, and other relevant departments regarding ongoing incidents or potential issues, ensuring clear and concise information flow.
- Respond promptly to alarms and emergency calls, dispatching appropriate personnel and providing real-time situational awareness and guidance.
- Assist in the investigation of security incidents, providing recorded footage and precise timeline details as required to aid in resolution.
- Ensure the proper functioning and maintenance of all CCTV equipment, reporting any malfunctions or technical issues immediately for resolution.
- Adhere strictly to all company security policies, procedures, and data protection guidelines concerning surveillance footage and confidential information.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion concerning all security matters, investigations, and sensitive information.
- Conduct regular system checks and testing to ensure optimal performance and readiness of the entire surveillance system.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 2 years) in a security monitoring or surveillance role, preferably within the hospitality or tourism sector.
- Demonstrated proficiency in operating CCTV systems and other modern security technology platforms.
- Excellent observational skills with the ability to detect and analyze subtle details and patterns effectively.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English (proficiency in Swahili is a significant advantage).
- Ability to remain calm, focused, and highly effective under pressure and during emergency situations.
- High level of integrity, honesty, and professionalism, with a strong sense of responsibility.
- Basic computer literacy for incident reporting, record-keeping, and general administrative tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in security operations or specialized CCTV surveillance training.
- Knowledge of basic first aid and emergency response procedures.
- Experience with various types of surveillance software and hardware systems.
- Prior experience working in a resort or high-end hotel environment in Zanzibar or East Africa.
- Fluency in Swahili to effectively communicate with local staff and guests.
