Career.zycto is seeking a highly vigilant and professional Security Guard to join our growing team in State House, Nairobi. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of assigned premises, both on foot and via vehicle, to deter and detect security breaches.
- Monitor surveillance cameras, alarm systems, and other security equipment for suspicious activity.
- Control access to the facility, verifying credentials, and maintaining accurate visitor logs.
- Respond promptly and effectively to alarms, emergencies, and security incidents, following established protocols.
- Write detailed incident reports, documenting observations, actions taken, and individuals involved.
- Enforce company policies and procedures related to safety and security.
- Liaise with law enforcement and emergency services when necessary.
- Provide a visible security presence to ensure a safe and secure environment for employees and visitors.
- Conduct routine safety checks and report potential hazards or maintenance issues.
- Assist in emergency evacuation procedures and crowd control as required.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Security Guard or in a similar security role (e.g., military, law enforcement) for at least 2 years.
- Valid Guard Force registration/license (e.g., PSRA card in Kenya or similar local requirement).
- Excellent observational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to operate security equipment and systems (CCTV, alarms, access control).
- Strong understanding of security protocols and emergency procedures.
- Physical fitness and the ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
- High level of integrity, reliability, and professionalism.
- Basic first aid and fire safety knowledge.
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of Swahili is an advantage.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working in high-profile or sensitive environments (e.g., government, corporate, diplomatic missions).
- Advanced training in defensive tactics or crisis management.
- Certification in CPR and Advanced First Aid.
- Proficiency with modern security software and reporting tools.
- A clean driving license with experience driving security vehicles.
