Job Description
This is a critical opening for a diligent and highly responsible Security Guard to join our client’s dedicated team in Liberton, Edinburgh. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of the premises, both internal and external, to prevent and detect signs of intrusion, damage, or fire.
- Monitor and operate CCTV systems, alarm panels, and other security equipment.
- Control access to the site, verifying credentials for all personnel, visitors, and vehicles.
- Respond promptly and effectively to alarms, emergencies, and security incidents, following established procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and observations in detailed reports.
- Enforce site rules and regulations, ensuring compliance by all individuals on the property.
- Provide a visible security presence, acting as a deterrent to criminal activity.
- Assist staff and visitors with enquiries while upholding a professional and helpful demeanor.
- Undertake regular checks of fire safety equipment and emergency exits.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement as required during incidents.
Required Skills
- Valid SIA Licence (Security Industry Authority)
- Proven experience as a Security Guard or in a similar protective services role (minimum 2 years)
- Excellent observation and communication skills
- Ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure
- Strong understanding of security protocols and emergency procedures
- Physical fitness and ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods
- Basic IT literacy for operating security systems and writing reports
- A strong sense of responsibility and integrity
- Legally eligible to work in the UK
Preferred Qualifications
- First Aid certification
- CCTV Operator Licence
- Experience with integrated security management systems
- Previous experience in a residential or corporate security setting

- Full UK driving licence
