Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of assigned areas, both on foot and via vehicle, to deter crime and ensure safety.
- Monitor surveillance equipment, including CCTV cameras, to detect and respond to suspicious activities.
- Respond promptly and professionally to alarms, security breaches, and emergency situations, following established protocols.
- Enforce company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance by employees, visitors, and contractors.
- Prepare detailed incident reports and daily activity logs, documenting observations, activities, and security-related occurrences.
- Provide a visible security presence, acting as a deterrent to unauthorized activities.
- Assist in directing visitors and providing information while maintaining a secure environment.
- Conduct access control duties, verifying identification and authorizing entry/exit as required.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, supervisors, and emergency services personnel when necessary.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and secure work area.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to obtain a valid Security Guard License in Alberta (or already possess one).
- Excellent observation and attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
- Physical fitness to perform duties including standing, walking, and occasional lifting.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Basic computer literacy for report writing and monitoring systems.
- Availability to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Previous customer service experience.
- Familiarity with security technology and alarm systems.
- Ability to speak additional languages.
