Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of bank premises, both internal and external, to prevent and detect signs of intrusion, vandalism, or other security breaches.
- Monitor surveillance equipment, including CCTV cameras, to identify suspicious activities or potential threats.
- Control access to the bank, verifying identification and authorizing entry for staff, customers, and visitors as per bank policy.
- Respond promptly and effectively to alarms, emergencies, and security incidents, following established protocols.
- Deter criminal activity through visible presence and proactive monitoring.
- Assist staff and customers with security-related concerns or inquiries, providing a reassuring and helpful presence.
- Complete detailed incident reports and daily activity logs accurately and promptly.
- Ensure compliance with all bank security policies, procedures, and relevant legal regulations.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement agencies when necessary.
- Operate and maintain security equipment, ensuring its proper functioning.
- Participate in security drills and training sessions to enhance preparedness.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field (minimum 1 year).
- Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
- Good physical fitness and ability to stand, walk, and perform duties for extended periods.
- Basic understanding of security equipment operation (CCTV, alarm systems).
- High level of integrity and professional conduct.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- First aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Knowledge of local security laws and regulations in Lesotho.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in banking security or financial institutions.
- Valid security guard license or relevant certification from a recognized authority.
- Secondary school education (Form C/JC) or equivalent.
- Proficiency in Sesotho and English.
