Job Description
Maseru Security Service (PTY) LTD is actively seeking vigilant, dedicated, and proactive individuals to join our growing team as Security Staff in Ha Seoli, Maseru. This is an immediate hiring opportunity for those ready to embark on a fulfilling career safeguarding people and property. As a member of our security team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our clients, their employees, and visitors. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve a dynamic mix of physical presence, technological monitoring, and direct engagement with individuals. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of designated areas, both on foot and using company vehicles, to ensure the security of premises and assets.
- Monitor surveillance equipment, including CCTV cameras and alarm systems, to detect and respond to any suspicious activities or breaches.
- Control access points, verify credentials of individuals entering and exiting facilities, and maintain accurate visitor logs.
- Respond promptly and effectively to alarms, emergencies, and security incidents, following established protocols and procedures.
- Write detailed and accurate incident reports, daily logs, and other required documentation.
- Enforce company security policies and procedures, ensuring compliance by all personnel and visitors.
- Provide excellent customer service and assistance to clients, employees, and visitors while maintaining a professional demeanor.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services when necessary.
- Conduct routine checks of safety equipment and report any malfunctions or hazards.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Security Officer or in a similar role (minimum 12 months)
- Excellent observational and analytical skills with a strong attention to detail
- Ability to operate security equipment and systems (CCTV, alarms, radios)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Sesotho
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion
- Physical fitness and ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods
- Sound judgment and ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure
- Valid driver's license (Code B or higher) is an advantage
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent; further education in security management or related field is a plus
- Security training certifications (e.g., PSIRA equivalent, basic first aid, fire safety)
- Previous experience in a corporate, industrial, or residential security setting
- Familiarity with local security regulations and protocols in Lesotho
