Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and vigilant Security Support professional to join our esteemed team in Ha Lekhoro, Teyateyaneng. This critical role is essential in maintaining the safety and security of our branch premises, assets, employees, and customers. As a Security Support team member, you will be the first line of defence, responsible for implementing and enforcing rigorous security protocols, monitoring advanced surveillance systems, and responding to incidents promptly and effectively. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular and thorough patrols of the bank premises, both internal and external, to identify and deter potential security threats.
- Monitor advanced surveillance cameras, alarm systems, and access control points, reporting any unusual or suspicious activities immediately.
- Control and manage access to the bank's facilities, meticulously verifying identification and ensuring only authorized personnel enter restricted areas.
- Respond promptly, efficiently, and effectively to alarms, emergencies, and security incidents, strictly following established protocols and procedures.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all security-related incidents, observations, and daily activities, ensuring comprehensive documentation.
- Provide professional and courteous assistance to customers and staff in security-related matters, offering guidance and ensuring a safe environment for all.
- Enforce bank policies and procedures rigorously, ensuring strict adherence to all security and safety guidelines.
- Collaborate seamlessly with local law enforcement and emergency services when necessary, facilitating effective communication and coordinated responses.
- Conduct thorough security checks on all incoming and outgoing deliveries and personnel, mitigating potential risks.
- Actively participate in ongoing security training programs and emergency drills to continuously enhance preparedness and response capabilities.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 1 year) in a security role, preferably within a corporate, retail, or banking environment.
- Strong observational skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a proactive approach to security.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse individuals.
- Demonstrated ability to remain calm, composed, and effective under pressure and in emergency situations.
- Fundamental knowledge of security procedures, protocols, and standard security equipment (e.g., CCTV, alarm systems, access control).
- Physical fitness to perform duties including prolonged standing, walking, and occasional lifting or physical intervention if required.
- Unquestionable high level of integrity, honesty, and professional ethics.
- Fluency in English and Sesotho is essential for effective communication with customers and colleagues.
Preferred Qualifications
- A certificate or diploma in Security Management, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
- Previous experience working specifically with a financial institution.
- In-depth knowledge of local security regulations, laws, and protocols in Lesotho.
