Job Description
Dairibord Zimbabwe Limited is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team in Mashonaland East Province. This is a critical full-time, on-site position based in Marondera, where you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of our financial records. As a Senior Accountant, you will be instrumental in the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, comprehensive management reports, and ensuring strict adherence to both internal financial policies and external regulatory requirements, including International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). You will be expected to leverage your expertise to provide insightful financial analysis, contribute significantly to budgeting and forecasting processes, and support the overall financial health and strategic objectives of our operations in the region.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
- Manage general ledger reconciliations and ensure the integrity of financial data.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely processing and reconciliation.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic financial forecasts.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide insights into financial performance to management.
- Ensure compliance with all tax regulations (VAT, PAYE, corporate tax) and other statutory requirements.
- Participate in internal and external audits, preparing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Develop and implement robust internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Mentor and supervise junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and high performance.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the finance department.
- Provide financial data and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in an accounting role, with at least 2 years in a senior capacity.
- Proven proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Pastel Evolution, SAP, Oracle Financials).
- Thorough knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, financial modeling).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated leadership and team supervision capabilities.
- High level of integrity and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certification such as ACCA, CIMA, or CA (Zimbabwe).
- Experience in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry.
- Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- Master's degree in Finance or Business Administration.
