Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct personal care, emotional support, and companionship to service users.
- Assist with medication management, ensuring adherence to prescribed regimens and accurate record-keeping.
- Develop, review, and implement individualised care plans in collaboration with service users, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Supervise and mentor junior care staff, providing guidance and support to maintain high standards of care.
- Monitor and record changes in service user's health and well-being, reporting concerns to the appropriate channels.
- Support service users with mobility, transfers, and rehabilitation exercises as directed by healthcare professionals.
- Organise and facilitate engaging social and recreational activities to enhance quality of life.
- Maintain accurate and detailed care records, adhering to data protection and confidentiality policies.
- Communicate effectively with families, colleagues, and external agencies to ensure holistic care coordination.
- Uphold the dignity, privacy, and independence of all service users at all times.
Required Skills
- NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent qualification).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a care setting, with at least 1 year in a senior or supervisory role.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing care plans.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
- Proficiency in administering medication safely and accurately.
- Compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach to care.
- Ability to handle challenging situations calmly and professionally.
- Valid UK driving license and access to a vehicle (preferred, but not essential).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with diverse client groups (e.g., dementia, physical disabilities).
- First Aid certification.
- Basic IT literacy for record-keeping and communication.
