As a Server, you will be the face of our client’s restaurant, creating memorable dining experiences for every guest. Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet and seat guests, presenting menus and explaining daily specials.
- Accurately take food and beverage orders, offering recommendations and answering questions regarding menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods.
- Serve food and beverages promptly and efficiently, ensuring presentation standards are met.
- Monitor dining areas to anticipate guests' needs and respond to requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Process payments using a Point of Sale (POS) system, handling cash and credit card transactions accurately.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of tables, dining areas, and server stations.
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and other team members to ensure smooth service flow.
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines, as well as liquor service regulations (e.g., smart serve).
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including setting up and breaking down dining areas.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 6 months experience in a similar server role within a restaurant setting.
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
- Proficiency in basic math for handling transactions and splitting bills.
- Availability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Bilingualism (French and English) is a significant asset.
- Experience with a common Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Valid Smart Serve or equivalent responsible alcohol service certification.
