As a Service Advisor, you will be the first point of contact for customers, responsible for accurately identifying their vehicle service and repair needs, providing clear explanations of work to be performed, and managing their expectations from booking to vehicle handover. You will play a pivotal role in building strong customer relationships, advising on necessary maintenance, upselling relevant services, and resolving any queries or concerns with professionalism and efficiency. Key Responsibilities

  • Greet customers warmly and professionally, identifying their service and repair needs.
  • Prepare accurate and detailed job cards for technicians, ensuring all customer requests and vehicle details are captured.
  • Explain technical diagnoses and necessary repairs to customers in an understandable manner.
  • Provide accurate cost estimates and obtain customer authorization for work to be performed.
  • Manage and maintain the service diary, scheduling appointments efficiently.
  • Update customers regularly on the status of their vehicle and any additional work required.
  • Upsell relevant services, maintenance plans, and accessories based on vehicle inspection and customer needs.
  • Process customer payments and vehicle handover professionally.
  • Handle customer queries, complaints, and feedback with a calm and solution-oriented approach.
  • Liaise with the parts department to ensure timely availability of components.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and professional reception area.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Service Advisor or in a customer-facing role within the automotive industry (minimum 2.5 years).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency with automotive dealership management systems (DMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Solid understanding of vehicle maintenance, repairs, and common automotive terminology.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Full UK driving license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Customer Service or a related field.
  • Previous experience with a specific brand or manufacturer's service procedures.
  • Sales experience with a proven track record of upselling.
