Your day-to-day will involve a diverse range of challenging tasks, from precise cutting, meticulous bending, and expert shaping of various sheet metals, including robust steel, lightweight aluminum, and corrosion-resistant stainless steel, to advanced welding and complex assembly. We are specifically looking for someone who can expertly operate a full suite of fabrication machinery such as state-of-the-art press brakes, powerful shears, versatile rollers, and precise punches, along with possessing superior layout and accurate measurement skills. Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings to determine material requirements and task sequences.
- Cut, bend, roll, punch, drill, and shape sheet metal using a variety of hand tools, power tools, and fabrication machinery (e.g., press brakes, shears, rollers).
- Fabricate and assemble metal parts and products according to specifications, ensuring precision and quality.
- Perform various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Stick) on different types of metals as required.
- Inspect finished products for conformity to specifications, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
- Measure and mark dimensions and reference lines on metal sheets, layout work pieces.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety regulations and company policies.
- Operate forkllifts, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and other departments to ensure project deadlines are met.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Expertise in operating various sheet metal fabrication machinery (e.g., press brake, shear, roll former).
- Skilled in welding processes including MIG, TIG, and Stick on different metal types.
- Strong mathematical and measurement skills, including the use of precision measuring instruments.
- Thorough knowledge of metal properties and fabrication techniques.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to safety practices and procedures.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Vocational training or apprenticeship completion in Sheet Metal Fabrication or a related field.
- AWS (American Welding Society) certification.
- Experience with CAD/CAM software for design and fabrication planning.
- Prior experience in a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
