Job Description
Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Textile Machine Operator to join our partners’ vibrant manufacturing teams in the Côte-Saint-Luc area of Montreal. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced factory environment and possess a strong aptitude for operating specialized machinery. As a Textile Machine Operator, you will be a crucial part of the production process, responsible for the efficient and safe operation of various textile manufacturing machines, including but not limited to looms, knitting machines, dyeing equipment, and finishing lines. Your daily contributions will directly impact the quality and volume of textile products, ensuring they meet the high standards expected by our clients and their customers.
This role requires a keen eye for detail, a commitment to quality control, and the ability to work collaboratively within a production team. You will be expected to monitor machine performance, identify and troubleshoot minor issues, and perform routine adjustments to ensure optimal output. Adherence to safety protocols and maintaining a clean and organized workstation are paramount in this role. Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor various textile production machinery, such as looms, knitting machines, dyeing apparatus, and finishing equipment, ensuring optimal performance.
- Load raw materials (yarns, fabrics) into machines and unload finished or semi-finished products with precision and care.
- Conduct regular quality checks on materials and finished products, identifying defects or inconsistencies and reporting them promptly.
- Perform routine machine adjustments, basic maintenance, and cleaning tasks to ensure smooth operation and longevity of equipment.
- Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, or production specifications to set up machines accurately.
- Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues, escalating complex problems to maintenance personnel.
- Strictly adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments to achieve production targets and maintain workflow.
- Document production data, including output, downtime, and material usage, as required.
Required Skills
- Proven manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to understand machine operation principles.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
- Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods, lift moderate weights, and perform repetitive tasks.
- A keen sense of safety awareness and adherence to protocols.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills for reading instructions and recording data.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (6+ months) operating machinery in a manufacturing or textile production environment.
- Experience with specific textile machinery (e.g., rapier looms, circular knitting machines, jiggers).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Forklift operator certification (an asset, but not mandatory).
- Ability to work various shifts (days, evenings, nights) as needed.
