Job Description
Career.zycto is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our growing team in Fairhope, Alabama. This critical role ensures the smooth and efficient flow of goods, playing a pivotal part in our supply chain operations. As a Shipping and Receiving Clerk, you will be responsible for managing all inbound and outbound shipments, meticulously documenting inventory, and maintaining a clean and orderly warehouse environment. You will be the first point of contact for incoming deliveries and the last point of inspection for outgoing products, guaranteeing accuracy and integrity throughout the process.

From verifying packing slips against purchase orders to preparing items for shipment with appropriate packaging and labels, your work directly supports our commitment to customer satisfaction and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities
- Receive, unload, and inspect all incoming materials and products, verifying counts against purchase orders and identifying any discrepancies or damages.
- Accurately record incoming and outgoing shipments in our inventory management system.
- Prepare outgoing shipments, including picking, packing, labeling, and staging products for delivery.
- Coordinate with carriers for timely pickups and deliveries, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment, adhering to all company safety protocols and procedures.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently (certification preferred).
- Perform periodic inventory counts and assist with discrepancy resolution.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments (e.g., purchasing, sales) regarding shipment status and inventory levels.
- Assist in loading and unloading trucks, ensuring proper weight distribution and securement of cargo.
- Process returns and manage damaged goods according to company policies.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a shipping, receiving, or warehouse environment.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software and basic computer applications (MS Office Suite).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and data entry.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Forklift certification and experience operating material handling equipment.
- Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
