Key Responsibilities
- Process incoming and outgoing shipments accurately and efficiently, ensuring timely dispatch and receipt of goods.
- Prepare all necessary shipping documentation, including waybills, invoices, packing lists, and customs forms.
- Verify the accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments against purchase orders or sales orders.
- Coordinate with logistics partners, couriers, and internal departments to arrange for pickup and delivery.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with cycle counts to maintain accurate stock records.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts safely (certification preferred but not mandatory).
- Package goods securely to prevent damage during transit, adhering to packaging standards.
- Resolve shipping discrepancies or issues promptly, escalating complex problems to the supervisor.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the shipping and receiving areas.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a shipping, receiving, or warehouse role.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 25 kg.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
- Familiarity with shipping software and inventory management systems.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, in English and Swahili.
Preferred Qualifications
- A diploma or certificate in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
- Knowledge of local and international shipping regulations.
- Experience operating a forklift with a valid license.
