Key Responsibilities
- Develop, customize, and maintain Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to meet client specifications and best practices.
- Implement responsive and adaptive designs to ensure optimal viewing and functionality across all devices and screen sizes.
- Integrate third-party applications, APIs, and custom features to extend Shopify store functionality and enhance user experience.
- Collaborate closely with designers, project managers, and clients to translate business and design requirements into robust technical solutions.
- Optimise website performance, loading speed, and ensure adherence to SEO best practices for improved search engine visibility.
- Perform rigorous testing, debugging, and quality assurance to ensure high-quality, bug-free deliverables before launch.
- Manage code versioning using Git and actively participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and share knowledge.
- Provide ongoing technical support, maintenance, and updates for live Shopify stores, addressing issues promptly.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest Shopify features, e-commerce trends, and web development technologies to continuously improve our offerings.
Required Skills
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal, for effective communication with team members and clients.
- 2+ years of professional experience as a Shopify Developer with a strong portfolio.
- Proficiency in Shopify Liquid templating language for custom theme development.
- Strong command of HTML5, CSS3 (including preprocessors like SCSS/Sass), and JavaScript (ES6+), including jQuery and modern JS frameworks.
- Demonstrable experience with responsive and adaptive design principles and cross-browser compatibility.
- Proven experience integrating Shopify APIs and various third-party applications.
- Proficiency with Git version control systems for collaborative development workflows.
- Ability to troubleshoot and debug complex issues efficiently across various platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related technical field.
- Experience with Shopify Plus and understanding of headless commerce architectures.
