Key Responsibilities

  • Execute skilled tasks in your designated trade(s) (e.g., carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, welding, general maintenance) according to project specifications and blueprints.
  • Read, interpret, and work from technical drawings, schematics, and building codes.
  • Operate and maintain a wide range of hand and power tools, ensuring their proper use and safety.
  • Perform installations, repairs, and preventative maintenance on various systems and structures.
  • Troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all workplace safety regulations, provincial building codes, and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate effectively with project managers, supervisors, and other team members to meet project deadlines and objectives.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and equipment inspections.
  • Contribute to a clean and organized work environment.
  • Mentor apprentices or less experienced workers where applicable.

Required Skills

  • Proven expertise and practical experience in at least one skilled trade (e.g., carpentry, electrical, plumbing, welding, HVAC).
  • Strong ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Proficiency in safely operating and maintaining relevant tools and equipment for your trade.
  • Thorough understanding of safety protocols, procedures, and personal protective equipment (PPE) usage.
  • Excellent problem-solving, diagnostic, and analytical abilities.
  • Demonstrated physical stamina, dexterity, and ability to perform demanding tasks.
  • Basic communication skills in English or French to understand instructions and collaborate effectively.
  • Commitment to quality workmanship and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Trade certification or diploma from a recognized vocational institution.
  • Experience working on commercial, industrial, or large-scale residential projects.
  • Prior experience working in a Canadian work environment or with Canadian building codes (an asset).
  • Proficiency in both English and French (bilingualism).
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
