Zuri Zanzibar is seeking a dynamic and creative Social Media Engagement Assistant to join our vibrant marketing team. You will be responsible for monitoring social media trends, identifying opportunities for creative content, and ensuring all communication aligns with our luxury brand voice and values.
Working closely with our Marketing Manager, you’ll contribute to the strategic planning and execution of social media campaigns, helping to amplify our unique selling propositions and attract new guests. This role requires an individual who is not only proficient in social media tools and analytics but also possesses an innate creativity, an eye for detail, and a proactive approach to community management. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and curate engaging visual and written content (photos, videos, stories, reels, posts) showcasing Zuri Zanzibar's amenities, experiences, and natural beauty, including excursions to Nakupenda Sandbank.
- Actively monitor and respond to comments, messages, and mentions across all social media platforms in a timely and brand-appropriate manner.
- Identify and engage with key influencers, guests, and relevant communities to foster positive relationships and expand brand reach.
- Assist in planning and executing social media campaigns to promote special offers, events, and unique resort features.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest social media trends, tools, and best practices, proactively recommending new strategies and content ideas.
- Track and report on social media performance metrics, providing insights to optimize future content and engagement strategies.
- Collaborate with the Marketing and Operations teams to ensure social media content aligns with broader marketing objectives and guest experiences.
- Maintain a consistent brand voice and visual identity across all social media channels.
- Support in capturing user-generated content and integrating it into our social media strategy.
Required Skills
- Proven experience managing and growing social media accounts, particularly for hospitality or luxury brands.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with a strong ability to craft compelling copy.
- Proficiency in using major social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X, YouTube) and their respective analytics tools.
- Basic photo and video editing skills (e.g., using mobile apps like CapCut, Snapseed, or tools like Canva).
- Strong understanding of social media algorithms, trends, and engagement strategies.
- Exceptional creativity, an eye for aesthetics, and attention to detail.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Ability to adapt quickly to a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
- Experience working within the luxury hospitality or tourism sector.
- Fluency in Swahili is a significant advantage for local engagement and content creation.
- Professional photography and videography skills.
- Familiarity with social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Sprout Social).
