Job Description

Are you a social media maestro with a passion for digital storytelling and community engagement? Vodacom Lesotho is seeking an experienced and dynamic Social Media Manager to join our innovative marketing team. This is a unique opportunity to work remotely, managing our social media presence and enhancing our brand’s digital footprint across Lesotho. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage Vodacom Lesotho’s comprehensive social media strategy in alignment with overall marketing and business objectives.
  • Create, curate, and manage engaging multimedia content (text, image, video, infographics) for all social media platforms (Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, etc.).
  • Plan and execute social media campaigns, contests, and promotions from conception to execution, ensuring brand consistency and messaging effectiveness.
  • Monitor, listen to, and respond to users in a timely and professional manner, fostering community engagement and managing online reputation.
  • Utilize social media analytics tools to track, analyze, and report on performance, identifying key trends, insights, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Stay abreast of the latest social media best practices, platform changes, algorithm updates, industry trends, and competitor activities.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams (Marketing, PR, Customer Service, Product Development) to ensure cohesive brand communication.
  • Manage social media advertising campaigns, including budget allocation, targeting, bidding strategies, and performance optimization.
  • Identify and engage with key influencers, brand advocates, and community leaders to expand reach and build valuable partnerships.
  • Develop and maintain a detailed social media content calendar, ensuring timely, relevant, and diverse postings.
  • Conduct ongoing competitor analysis to benchmark performance, identify opportunities, and mitigate threats.

Required Skills

  • Proven work experience (minimum 3 years) as a Social Media Manager, Digital Marketing Manager, or similar role.
  • Demonstrable expertise in managing major social media platforms (Facebook, X/Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok).
  • Exceptional copywriting, editing (photo/video/text), and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid understanding of SEO principles, keyword research, and Google Analytics.
  • Proficiency with social media publishing, monitoring, and analytics tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Buffer, Facebook Business Manager).
  • Strong ability to interpret social media data, generate actionable insights, and present findings clearly.
  • Knowledge of web traffic metrics, audience segmentation, and engagement strategies.
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Fluency in English and Sesotho (both written and spoken).
  • Ability to work effectively and independently in a remote work environment with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Experience within the telecommunications industry or a fast-paced technology-driven environment.
  • Proficiency with graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) for basic content creation.
  • Certifications in Social Media Marketing, Digital Marketing, or Content Marketing.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing successful social media campaigns and content examples.
