Job Description
Are you a meticulous wordsmith with a passion for quality assurance and a deep understanding of software development? Absolute Software is seeking a talented Software QA Documentation Specialist to join our remote team, working to ensure the clarity, accuracy, and completeness of our product documentation from a quality assurance perspective. In this crucial role, you will bridge the gap between our QA, Development, and Product teams, translating complex technical information into user-friendly and precise documentation that supports our world-class cybersecurity solutions.
As a Software QA Documentation Specialist, you will be instrumental in reviewing, writing, and refining documentation related to test plans, test cases, defect reports, release notes, user manuals, and technical specifications. Your primary focus will be on ensuring that all documentation accurately reflects the software’s functionality, meets regulatory and internal quality standards, and is easily understood by diverse audiences, including developers, testers, product managers, and end-users. You’ll work closely with QA engineers to understand testing methodologies and results, ensuring that every detail is captured and communicated effectively. This remote position offers the flexibility to work from your home office while being an integral part of our dynamic and supportive global team. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, write, and maintain comprehensive QA documentation, including test plans, test cases, test reports, and defect descriptions.
- Review existing product documentation, user guides, and technical specifications to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to QA standards.
- Collaborate with QA engineers, developers, and product managers to gather information and ensure technical content is accurate and up-to-date.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and easy-to-understand language for various target audiences.
- Create and update release notes, installation guides, and troubleshooting documentation.
- Participate in the software development lifecycle, providing input on documentation requirements and reviewing deliverables.
- Implement and maintain documentation version control and ensure proper storage and accessibility.
- Identify and recommend improvements to documentation processes, tools, and templates.
- Ensure all documentation complies with company standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in technical writing or documentation, specifically within a software QA or development context.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and QA methodologies.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency with documentation tools (e.g., Confluence, SharePoint, MadCap Flare) and issue-tracking systems (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps).
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting while effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to understand complex technical information.
- Experience with version control systems for documentation.
