Job Description

You will be instrumental in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, from small residential setups to larger commercial projects. Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on various roof types and ground mounts.
  • Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and instructions to determine installation specifications.
  • Assemble and install solar modules, inverters, batteries, and other balance of system components.
  • Perform electrical wiring of solar arrays, ensuring compliance with electrical codes and safety standards.
  • Conduct site assessments to determine optimal panel placement and identify potential hazards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system malfunctions or performance issues.
  • Ensure all installations meet quality standards, local building codes, and client requirements.
  • Educate clients on system operation, maintenance, and safety procedures.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) effectively.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and system configurations.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in solar PV system installation and maintenance.
  • Strong understanding of electrical principles and wiring techniques.
  • Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and blueprints.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant certification in solar PV installation or electrical wiring (e.g., EPRA Technician License).
  • Experience with different types of solar inverters and battery storage systems.
  • Knowledge of Kenyan electrical codes and renewable energy regulations.
  • Valid Kenyan driving license with a clean record.
