Key Responsibilities
- Assist paramedics in administering patient care at emergency scenes and during transport.
- Monitor vital signs and patient condition under the direction of a paramedic.
- Prepare and maintain emergency medical equipment, supplies, and vehicles.
- Perform basic life support procedures, including CPR, bandaging, and splinting.
- Document patient information, interventions, and transport details accurately and promptly.
- Ensure the cleanliness and operational readiness of the ambulance and all medical apparatus.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare providers.
- Adhere strictly to all medical protocols, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Provide compassionate and professional care to all patients, regardless of their condition or background.
Required Skills
- Certified First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and in high-stress situations
- Excellent observational and critical thinking abilities
- Physical stamina and ability to lift and move patients
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (Class C preferred)
- Proficiency in basic medical terminology
Preferred Qualifications
- Paramedic Assistant certification or equivalent relevant qualification
- Experience working in an emergency medical services (EMS) or healthcare setting
- Familiarity with local geographic areas and routes in Monapo region
- Knowledge of Portuguese and Emakhuwa languages
