Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to solicitors in corporate and family law departments.
- Draft, proofread, and prepare legal documents, correspondence, and court forms with accuracy.
- Manage and maintain client files, ensuring all documentation is organised and up-to-date.
- Liaise with clients, external counsel, courts, and other stakeholders, handling inquiries professionally.
- Assist with case management, including diary management, scheduling appointments, and monitoring deadlines.
- Conduct preliminary legal research and gather relevant information as directed by solicitors.
- Process incoming and outgoing mail, emails, and phone calls efficiently.
- Assist with billing processes, expense reports, and time recording.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all client and company information.
- Support the preparation for court hearings, meetings, and client consultations.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Legal Assistant, Paralegal, or Solicitor Assistant (minimum 18 months).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills with an ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High level of discretion and professionalism.
Preferred Qualifications
- SVQ or HNC/HND in Legal Services, Business Administration, or a related field.
