This is a unique opportunity to provide comprehensive administrative and legal support across our Corporate and Family Law departments, offering a diverse and engaging workload. As a Solicitor Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our legal services, directly contributing to client satisfaction and case progression.
You will be an integral part of our team, responsible for preparing a wide range of legal documents, conducting preliminary research, managing client communications, and maintaining meticulous case files. Key Responsibilities
- Draft and prepare a variety of legal documents, correspondence, and court forms for both corporate and family law matters.
- Conduct initial legal research, case preparation, and compile bundles for court hearings or client meetings.
- Manage and organise client files, ensuring all documentation is accurately filed, up-to-date, and easily accessible.
- Liaise with clients, counsel, courts, and other external parties via phone, email, and in-person, maintaining professional communication standards.
- Schedule appointments, manage diaries, and coordinate meetings for solicitors.
- Assist with billing processes, expense reports, and other administrative tasks as required.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all client and company information.
- Support the wider legal team with ad-hoc projects and administrative duties to ensure smooth office operations.
Required Skills
- Previous experience (minimum 1 year) as a Legal Assistant, Paralegal, or similar role within a law firm.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal case management software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively under pressure.
- A solid understanding of legal terminology and standard legal procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- A degree in Law, LPC, GDL, or equivalent legal qualification.
- Experience in both corporate/commercial law and family law.
- Familiarity with Bristol County Court and Family Court procedures.
