Job Description

Career.zycto is proud to partner with a reputable legal practice in Stocksbridge, Sheffield, currently seeking a diligent and proactive Solicitor Assistant to join their dedicated team. This unique role offers the opportunity to provide essential administrative and legal support across two critical areas: Corporate Law and Family Law. You will play a pivotal role in supporting solicitors by preparing legal documents, managing client correspondence, and maintaining meticulous case files. Key Responsibilities

  • Drafting and preparing various legal documents, correspondence, and court forms for both Corporate and Family Law cases.
  • Managing client communication, including answering calls, scheduling appointments, and ensuring timely follow-ups.
  • Maintaining and organising physical and electronic client files, ensuring all documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and compliant.
  • Assisting with legal research, gathering relevant information and precedents as required by solicitors.
  • Managing solicitors' diaries, scheduling meetings, court dates, and travel arrangements.
  • Processing incoming and outgoing mail, emails, and faxes efficiently.
  • Preparing bundles for court hearings and client meetings.
  • Supporting with billing processes, including time recording and preparing invoices.
  • Handling sensitive and confidential information with utmost discretion and professionalism.
  • Undertaking general administrative duties to ensure the smooth running of the office.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a legal administrative or assistant role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively in a busy environment.
  • Strong understanding of confidentiality and data protection principles.
  • A proactive and professional approach to work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Legal secretarial qualification (e.g., CILEx Level 2 or 3 in Legal Secretarial Studies).
  • Previous experience working within Corporate or Family Law departments.
  • Familiarity with legal case management software (e.g., Proclaim, Clio, LEAP).
  • Basic knowledge of legal terminology and procedures.
