Key Responsibilities
- Design, set up, test, and operate sound systems for live concerts, festivals, corporate events, and other performances.
- Perform comprehensive pre-event equipment checks, ensuring all microphones, speakers, mixers, amplifiers, and associated cabling are functional and correctly configured.
- Conduct sound checks with performers and event personnel, making necessary adjustments to achieve optimal audio levels and clarity.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any audio-related issues quickly and efficiently during live events to prevent disruptions.
- Operate digital and analog mixing consoles, equalizers, compressors, gates, and effects processors.
- Implement stage plots, input lists, and patch sheets accurately according to event specifications.
- Manage and maintain audio equipment inventory, ensuring proper storage, care, and basic repairs.
- Collaborate effectively with lighting technicians, stage managers, and performers to ensure seamless technical production.
- Adhere to safety protocols and industry best practices for rigging, cabling, and electrical systems.
- Provide clear communication and technical support to artists and event staff throughout the production process.
Required Skills
- Proficiency with digital and analog mixing consoles (e.g., Yamaha, Midas, Behringer).
- Strong understanding of acoustics, signal flow, microphone techniques, and PA system optimization.
- Experience with various types of live audio equipment, including monitors, in-ear systems, and wireless microphones.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills under pressure.
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, stage plots, and input lists.
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy equipment (up to 25 kg) and work long hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration and client interaction.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Audio Engineering, Sound Production, or a related field.
- Certification in Live Sound Reinforcement or equivalent industry recognition.
- Familiarity with specific audio software for system analysis and tuning (e.g., SMAART, Rational Acoustics).
- Experience working in diverse venue types (indoor, outdoor, arenas, theaters).
- Knowledge of DMX lighting control and basic video projection systems is a plus.
