Career.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and passionate Full-Time Sound Engineer to join our innovative team in Fabreville, Laval. As a Sound Engineer, you will be instrumental in shaping the sonic identity of a diverse portfolio of projects, ranging from recording and mixing music, dialogues, and sound effects for digital media, to ensuring impeccable live sound for various events and installations. You will work closely with producers, directors, artists, and other creative professionals to translate artistic visions into compelling auditory realities.
Your day-to-day will involve hands-on operation of our state-of-the-art studio equipment, meticulous recording sessions, precise mixing for optimal clarity and impact, and mastering audio for final delivery across various platforms. Key Responsibilities
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot professional audio recording and mixing equipment, including microphones, consoles, digital audio workstations (DAWs), and outboard gear.
- Conduct recording sessions for voice-overs, music, sound effects, and other audio elements, ensuring optimal sound capture and signal integrity.
- Mix and master audio tracks to achieve a balanced, polished, and commercially ready sound, adhering to industry standards and client specifications.
- Collaborate effectively with producers, artists, and post-production teams to understand project requirements and deliver audio that aligns with creative objectives.
- Implement sound design elements and foley, enhancing the overall auditory experience for various media formats (e.g., video, podcasts, animations).
- Perform quality control checks on all audio deliverables, identifying and rectifying any technical issues or inconsistencies.
- Manage and organize audio assets, ensuring proper cataloging, backup, and accessibility.
- Stay updated with the latest audio technologies, software, and industry trends to continuously improve production workflows and quality.
- Provide technical support during live events or installations, ensuring seamless audio operation.
- Adhere to project timelines and budget constraints while maintaining high artistic and technical standards.
Required Skills
- Proven proficiency with industry-standard Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro X, Cubase, or Ableton Live.
- In-depth knowledge of audio recording techniques, microphone selection, and placement for various sources.
- Strong understanding of mixing principles, including equalization, compression, reverb, delay, and spatialization.
- Expertise in audio mastering for different platforms and delivery specifications.
- Solid grasp of acoustics, signal flow, and audio electronics.
- Ability to troubleshoot audio hardware and software issues efficiently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly.
- Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities and meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Audio Engineering, Music Production, or a related field.
- Experience with sound design and foley artistry for film, television, or gaming.
- Familiarity with various audio plug-ins and processing tools (e.g., Waves, FabFilter, iZotope).
- Bilingualism (French and English) is a significant asset for collaboration in Quebec.
- Previous experience with live sound reinforcement and event production.
- A portfolio or demo reel showcasing relevant audio engineering work.
