Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Sound Engineer specializing in Mixing & Mastering to join our creative team in Ocean Pointe, Ewa Beach. As our Mixing & Mastering Engineer, you will be responsible for the final sonic shaping of music, podcasts, voiceovers, and other audio content. This role demands not only technical expertise in various DAWs and plugins but also a keen artistic ear capable of identifying nuances, enhancing emotional impact, and ensuring sonic consistency across different playback systems. You will work closely with artists, producers, and project managers, translating their vision into an auditory reality while maintaining industry standards for loudness, clarity, and dynamics.

Key Responsibilities
- Execute high-quality mixing of multi-track recordings, balancing levels, applying equalization, compression, effects, and spatial positioning to create a cohesive and professional sound.
- Perform precise audio mastering, optimizing loudness, dynamics, stereo imaging, and overall sonic integrity for various distribution platforms (digital, CD, vinyl).
- Collaborate closely with artists, producers, and clients to understand their vision and translate it into a compelling final mix and master.
- Provide constructive feedback and creative solutions during the mixing and mastering process.
- Ensure all final audio productions meet industry technical specifications and quality standards.
- Maintain and troubleshoot studio equipment, software, and plugins to ensure optimal performance.
- Organize and archive project files efficiently, including session files, bounces, and stems.
- Stay updated with the latest audio engineering technologies, software, and mixing/mastering techniques.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, adhering to deadlines and maintaining high standards of quality.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in industry-standard Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro X, Cubase, Ableton Live, or Studio One.
- Demonstrated expertise in mixing techniques, including gain staging, EQ, compression, reverb, delay, and automation.
- Proven experience in mastering audio for various platforms, including an understanding of loudness standards (e.g., LUFS), dither, and noise shaping.
- Strong understanding of acoustics, psychoacoustics, and signal flow.
- Excellent ear for detail, critical listening skills, and a strong sense of musicality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for client interaction and feedback.
- Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to technical challenges.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Audio Engineering, Music Production, or a related field.
- Certification from a recognized audio engineering program.
- Experience with analog mixing consoles and outboard gear.
- Familiarity with immersive audio formats (e.g., Dolby Atmos, spatial audio).
- Portfolio demonstrating a diverse range of successful mixing and mastering projects across different genres.
- Knowledge of audio restoration techniques.
