Key Responsibilities

  • Assist lead sound engineers with equipment setup, calibration, and teardown for various projects and events.
  • Manage and organize audio cables, microphones, stands, and other essential equipment.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting of audio equipment under supervision.
  • Support live sound reinforcement, including monitoring levels and making minor adjustments as directed.
  • Aid in studio recording sessions, including microphone placement, session preparation, and data management.
  • Learn and operate digital audio workstations (DAWs) for basic editing and organization tasks.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of audio equipment and workspaces.
  • Conduct equipment inventory checks and report any missing or damaged items.
  • Provide general logistical support to the audio production team.
  • Actively participate in learning opportunities and seek feedback for continuous improvement.

Required Skills

  • Basic understanding of audio principles and signal flow.
  • Familiarity with various types of audio equipment (microphones, mixers, speakers).
  • Proficiency in basic computer operation and file management.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively in a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Physical ability to lift and move audio equipment (up to 50 lbs).

  • Completed or pursuing a diploma/certificate in Audio Engineering, Music Production, or a related field.
  • Experience with a Digital Audio Workstation (e.g., Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Ableton Live) in a personal capacity.
  • Prior experience in a live sound environment (e.g., school events, local bands).
  • Basic knowledge of acoustics and room treatment.
  • Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset, given the location.
