This vital role is at the heart of event production, responsible for the safe, efficient, and meticulous handling, transportation, and setup of a wide array of audio equipment for various live events, concerts, corporate functions, and theatrical productions.

As a member of our crew, you’ll work collaboratively within a team to ensure all sound gear, from speakers and amplifiers to mixing consoles and microphones, is moved with utmost care and strategic planning. This position demands a keen eye for detail, a strong sense of responsibility, and the ability to work effectively under varying timelines and conditions. You will be instrumental in the load-in, setup, tear-down, and load-out processes, often working irregular hours that align with event schedules. Key Responsibilities

  • Safely load, unload, and transport various types of sound equipment, including speakers, amplifiers, mixing consoles, cables, microphones, and stage monitors.
  • Assist with the setup and breakdown of audio systems according to production specifications and lead technician instructions.
  • Organize and maintain equipment inventory, ensuring all items are accounted for and stored properly before and after events.
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures for lifting, rigging, and operating equipment in diverse venue settings.
  • Collaborate effectively with fellow crew members, technical directors, and venue staff to meet tight deadlines and production schedules.
  • Perform routine checks and basic maintenance on equipment to ensure functionality and report any damages or malfunctions.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace backstage and in storage areas.
  • Adapt to changing event requirements and schedules, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive attitude.

Required Skills

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) regularly and perform strenuous physical tasks for extended periods.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability, with a commitment to punctuality.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to handling valuable equipment with care.
  • Basic understanding of event production logistics and backstage etiquette.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as dictated by event schedules.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in event production, stagehand work, or a similar physically demanding role.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Familiarity with various types of audio equipment and basic signal flow.
  • First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Forklift certification or experience operating other lifting equipment.
