Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the loading, unloading, and transportation of scenic elements, props, lighting, and sound equipment.
- Participate in the assembly and striking of stage sets, including risers, platforms, backdrops, and other scenic pieces, adhering to safety protocols.
- Operate various stage equipment such as fly systems, winches, and rigging apparatus under supervision.
- Provide support for lighting technicians, including focus, gelling, and troubleshooting fixtures.
- Aid sound engineers with microphone placement, cable management, and speaker setup.
- Execute quick and efficient scene changes during live performances, ensuring seamless transitions.
- Maintain a safe and organized backstage environment, following all venue and production safety guidelines.
- Perform general maintenance and repair of stage equipment and props as needed.
- Collaborate effectively with directors, designers, technical staff, and performers to achieve production goals.
- Be proactive in identifying and resolving technical issues promptly to avoid disruptions.
Required Skills
- Strong physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) regularly.
- Basic understanding of stagecraft, theatre terminology, and live event production.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a high-pressure, time-sensitive environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to precision.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Adherence to all safety regulations and best practices.
